Videos

Resource Updated:

June 25, 2024

Using Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) funding an Occupational Therapy led service has been developed to provide Vocational Rehabilitation support within Primary Care Networks (PCN) in Wakefield, to support those in work and struggling, or off work sick due to a health condition who are contacting their GPs for ongoing fit note provision.

This presentation discussed the impact that early Vocational Rehabilitation intervention has had on work retention and its overall effectiveness within the PCN using case studies and evidence based practice and research.

Your Speaker:

Lauren qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2007 and is currently working as an Advanced Occupational Therapist in a Community Neurology service delivering a variety of interventions including Vocational Rehabilitation, either through Occupational Therapy clinics or in a person’s own home, with the aim to maximise a person’s function, independence, and well-being.

Lauren has a passion for Vocational Rehabilitation and was instrumental in setting up a pilot service for Occupational Therapy led clinics within primary care which has proved successful and led to the expansion of the service within Wakefield.
