Step Ahead Plus is a vocational assessment and rehabilitation service for individuals with an acquired brain injury seeking to return to employment or education.
Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is a nationwide service operating throughout the Republic of Ireland. The presentation will provide an overview of the following aspects: service model and delivery, referrals, and system of prioritisation, assessment and intervention methods, outcomes and lessons learned in our journey so far.
Our speakers
Laura Reilly is a Senior Occupational Therapist working with Acquired Brain Injury Ireland as part of the Step Ahead Plus programme. Laura completed her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Laura later completed her masters in Neurorehabilitation at Brunel University London. Laura has worked clinically in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Laura has a keen interest in improving vocational outcomes for individuals with brain injuries.
Ciara Nolan is an Employment and Training Liaison working with Acquired Brain Injury Ireland as a part of the Step Ahead Plus programme. Ciara completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Maynooth University. Ciara is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) accredited by the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA). Ciara is passionate about supporting individuals with brain injuries to engage in sustainable employment opportunities.
