A recording of our April 2021 webinar about domestic abuse and the support that can be provided in the workplace for those experiencing this.

This session we briefly cover the following areas:

  • Definition of domestic abuse and overview of the types of abuse.
  • What does domestic abuse look like.
  • Listen, believe support – what to do when someone discloses.
  • Supporting in the workplace overview.
  • Possible things that can be used by you in the workplace.

There are also lots of resources to refer to.

Our presenter Tracey Secker is the Enterprise Manager at The Haven Wolverhampton a charitable organisation that provides both practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic abuse. They are one of the largest refuge providers in the UK.

Their Training & Research Team provide training and policy writing support to organisations of all sizes and in all sectors.  Tracey and their Training & Research Manager together have over thirty years in the health and social care industry, employment sector and training.  Tracey formerly worked within the disability and health employment sector providing support within the workplace and facilitating the return to work of employees.
