What’s the Difference Between Job Carving and Job Crafting; and Why Does It Matter?

Live Webinar with Dr Sarah Dauncey

Research Fellow, Scottish Centre for Employment Research Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde

Supporting people with long‑term health conditions and disabilities to access, remain in and thrive at work often requires thoughtful job redesign. But how that redesign happens and who has agency in shaping it, can make a profound difference to long‑term outcomes.

In this practical, research‑informed session, Dr Sarah Dauncey explores the distinctions between job carving and job crafting, and why understanding both is essential for embedding effective, inclusive workplace practices. Using insights from the NIHR‑funded WISHES job crafting trial, Sarah will discuss how employees can be supported to shape their roles in ways that enhance manageability, engagement and enjoyment over time.

Ideal for VR professionals, OTs, case managers, HR practitioners and anyone involved in workplace adjustments, retention or disability inclusion.

All registrants receive the session recording, and CPD certificates are available on request.
