In Australia vocational rehab providers work closely with doctors and allied health professionals (AHP) to address psychosocial factors, overcome barriers and progress function and work capacity.  Like wise the VRPs role is to support those doctors or AHPs who are uncertain about the recovery potential and return to work process. The aim of intervention is to promote a bio-psychosocial approach and distinguish symptoms from function.

This presentation aims to provide some background on the approach in Australia that sees the VRP as integral to injury/ illness management, upgrades in function and return to work.
