DATE / TIME 27/04/2021
12:00 am - 1:00 pm

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Join us for our April webinar about domestic violence about the support that can be provided in the workplace for those experiencing this.  Every year, at least 3 million women experience domestic abuse in the UK and domestic abuse currently costs businesses in the UK £1.9 billion a year.  During the pandemic, we have seen the levels of domestic abuse rising further.

This session will briefly cover the following areas:

– Definition of domestic abuse and overview of the types of abuse.

– What does domestic abuse look like.

– Listen, believe support – what to do when someone discloses.

– Supporting in the workplace overview.

– Possible things that can be used by you in the workplace.

At the end of the presentation, there will be referral details for organisations that support various areas of the community and all genders.  If there are specific questions there will hopefully be time to answer these at the end, but if not we will be working with the VRA to answer these after the event.

Our presenter Tracey Secker is the Enterprise Manager at The Haven Wolverhampton a charitable organisation that provides both practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic abuse. They are one of the largest refuge providers in the UK.
