The RCOT Specialist Section-Work National Executive Committee warmly invites you to join us for our Annual Study Day, delivered by occupational therapists for occupational therapists, which this year will be held online.
The keynote speaker is respected researcher Dr Katrina Bannigan from Glasgow Caledonian University. She will open the day with an inspiring talk that aims to equip all attendees with confidence and belief in their unique professional skills entitled: Why not me? This presentation will challenge you to think about why, as Steve Ford (CEO, RCOT) has observed, that despite loving their jobs, occupational therapists “… feel like the underdog, other professions are better at grasping the opportunities.” The aim of the presentation is to think about how we can move, or support others to move, from feeling like the underdog to thinking ‘Why not me?’
Other topics include best practice examples from occupational therapists with experience of working in GP surgeries, occupational health and Individual Placement and Support Services(IPS). The afternoon sessions will look at autism, fatigue and neurology in the world of work.
