Edge computing in AI – Interventions for Occupational Health

Location:

iOH

Presented by Wayne Bryant

Tue 24 March 2026, 7:00 pm

Details

6 Months of exploratory activity working with Occupational Health in the NHS – Where can Edge AI add value?

Edge AI, short for edge artificial intelligence, is technology that processes data at the ingestion point, closer to data sources, whether they are centralized or distributed. The benefit is the same—local processing for use cases where you need better real-time decision making, or where it is difficult and/or costly to move data to a central location.

About Wayne

Wayne Bryant is the ‘Business & Impact Manager’ at the National Edge AI Hub, a 15 University consortium project, led by Newcastle University. Wayne has been working in the Innovation space for over 12 years including 5 years working with NHS Trusts to setup infrastructure to accelerate innovation.
